Activity cage

A plexiglass cage for mice, where a training wheel is electronically monitored to log activity of test subjects during the course of the day.

6 cages were built, each with individual memory to log data up to 32 hours. Software was written to both output comma-separated value files for data analysis, as well as a user interface on Mac which provides real-time graphs of the data.

Muscle Stimulator

A device that provides electrical stimulus to muscle tissue.

Replacement of 3 older, separate devices, combined into one unit. The new devices fits in perfectly with the previous test environment, allowing users to easily stick with their procedures, while having better control over the process.

Programmable Delay Generator

Accepting direct photo-diode input, this device introduces a delay of 2.2 to 12.44ns, with a resolution of 10ps. Output is TTL level.

The trigger level is adjustable, and a user interface has been written to be able to manipulate the settings from a desktop computer.

Eletronic teaching aid

A teaching aid, consisting of several 'building blocks' that can be attached to a motherboard, enabling a variety of experiments.

The goal of the exercise is to see how math is applied in real life, by having students generate radio signals which remotely control a small-scale car.

Lamp remote control

A small project, enabling the use of a standard TV remote control to turn any store-bought lamp on and off.

The receiver can be "programmed" by the user to accept any remote control button as it's input, without relying on a manufacturer's protocol (e.g. a remote control from Sony, Philips,.. can be used)
